LEAKED DATA ONCE AGAIN FROM FACEBOOK

Year 2018 is proving to be the toughest year for Facebook. Facebook seems to be constantly stuck about user data privacy. In this case a new case has emerged. Facebook has 1.4 million users who shared their posts for private groups or friends, they were public shares. No information was given to the users that their private posts were public. I.e. Facebook's publicly shared post without informing the user. Its information was given by Facebook on Thursday itself. The company said that due to a bug (technological disturbance), this mistake has happened due to security.

How did the data leak?

Users in Facebook are given the 'Audiences Selector' tool. With the help of which they decide that their post is shared with friends, in a group or with certain people. But due to a bug, whatever posts posted by some Facebook users, from 18 May to 27 May, they became public on their own without the user's permission. Audience setting changed without user information

Facebook's Chief Privacy Officer Erin Eggen said, "We have fixed this bug. From today (Thursday) we are giving this information to all the users whose Facebook posts have been affected by this bug. We are also giving them the option to review all the posts made during this time. We apologize to the users for this mistake. "

Facebook to win the confidence of users

This is the first time after the Cambridge analytics data scam and New York Times disclosures that Facebook itself has followed its own mistake and has given information to the bugs to users. Facebook is engaged in achieving the lost credibility of its platform between its users. Through this information, Facebook wants to know that the company is serious about data of users.

The New York Times released a report in the beginning of this week, according to which Facebook shared the user's private data with 60 phone maker companies such as Samsung, Huawei, Apple. Not only this, the data of friends of the users was shared with these phone maker companies. According to the NYT report, Facebook had said that access to any integrated API will be eliminated, but still Facebook maintains a partnership with many people under which data can be accessed. Facebook has acknowledged in its recent statement that it has been sharing data with the phone maker companies of China. Facebook compromised the data with companies in 2010. Many of these agreements are going on till now
