It is very easy if you are an SBI customer and want to update your mobile number with the bank. SBI provides the facility to link mobile number with bank account or update new number to customers both online and offline. The bank says that if customers do not keep their mobile number / email ID updated with the bank, they may be deprived of OTP, PIN activation message, etc., account statements and important information or information sent by the bank.




If you want to update your mobile number offline in SBI, you have to go to the bank branch and submit the application. In addition, the person must have proof of identity.




Online way




If you want to update mobile number online from home, follow this procedure for you




Step 1: Login to your SBI Internet Banking Account.




Step 2: Click on 'My Accounts & Profile'.




Step 3: Select Profile and select 'Personal Details / Mobile'.




Step 4: Now click on the mobile number and enter the new details.




Step 5: You will now have three options for mobile number update. First through OTP, in which OTP will be sent to both your new and old mobile number. The second is by approving the internet banking request from the ATM and the third is by approving from the contact center, in which you will get a call from the contact center.




Step 6: If you select OTP, all your bank accounts will be shown. You have to select the account with the presence of debit / ATM card and click on Process.

Step 7: On the next screen, you have to enter the card details and captcha and click on process.

Step 8: Now there will be a message show on the screen about mobile number update.




Step 9: An SMS will be sent to both your new and old mobile number, in which the active number will be different.




Step 10: You have to copy both the text message from ACTIVATE to the reference number and send it to 567676 from both the mobile numbers.




Step 11: After this the process will be completed.




From the mobile application




Step 1: Log in to SBI Mobile App.




Step 2: Go to 'My Profile' and click on the Edit icon.




Step 3: Click on New Mobile Number / Email ID.

Step 4: Enter new mobile number and generate OTP. It will come to your old registered number.




Step 5: Enter OTP and click on 'Submit'.
